The short of it is that we're competing in an awesome local and national competition that could do great things for the band, even if we don't win. Our local showcase is Thursday May 16th at Double Door in Chicago and we could really use your support!

We've always thought that we were pretty raw, but now it's official— we've been accepted as a RAW: natural born artist! So what is RAW, you ask? RAW is an organization that supports independent artists with exposure and promotion through a national competition.

Artists submissions are hand-picked for local showcases which are judged for skill, creativity, and professionalism via an industry panel and popular vote. Then the top artists participate in a semi-finals nomine showcase in November. From each city, one winner per category (music, fashion design, film, etc) goes on to be judged by a nation-wide industry panel, the winners of which get prizes such as studio time and professional consultation at an awards show in LA.

Kind of like American Idol meets the Hunger Games... for artists. 

The great thing about RAW is that advancement isn't based on ticket sales (like some competitions), rather artists are judged by their talent. However, it's the local showcases that fund the organization so everyone is asked to sell tickets to support the cause.

Can you make it out and support us on our first step to RAWKstardom? Tickets are $10. It's a classy event with a cash bar held at Double Door on Thursday May 16.

In addition to 3 music sets throughout the night (including ours!) there will be a fashion show, several performance pieces, and a short film. All from talented, hard working, hand picked artists, the show is sure to be a great night.

Reggie just did a fun interview with Moria Dailey over at Chicago Music talking about the new album, our origin story, and the current state of ska. Pop on over and check it out.

We've been hard at work recording our first full length album, No Loose Ends. This album marks the culmination of 2 years of writing, laughing, learning, and growing with all of you. We recorded with the talented Joe Cochiaro in West Chicago and are now most of the way through post-production.

Not to get ahead of ourselves, but we can't wait for you guys to hear it. In fact, we're so excited that we're throwing a FREE pre-release party this Saturday at Livewire Lounge in Chicago! We'll be taking discounted pre-orders for the finished album (which comes with an advanced sneak peek of some of the songs) and giving away prizes all night!
